Weekly Update Aug. 17, 2014!

We finished joining the panels Tuesday last week. We also started cutting out the pieces and are about half way done. This job was a lot more work than expected. Imagine a hull panel with a tab every 50 cm – makes some 50 tabs per part. Each hull exists of 12 parts between 5 and 12 meter length. And there are bulkheads, bridgedeck parts, cabin top, inside/outside furniture, webs and soles, prodder, daggerboard cases … The number of tabs seems almost endless!

We started the cutting with a jig saw but it turned out, that a circular saw with a self made positioning device does the job faster and more precisely. Since Wednesday we´re having a break till end of next week, so nothing much will happen then.

Cutting the tabs with a specially prepared circular saw - still a lot work to do
